Decree Law "simplifications": ICQRF or ICRF code becomes optional
ICQRF or ICRF code becomes optional
On 11 September, the Parliament has finally approved the law of conversion to the decree-law 16 July 2020, n. 76, so-called "administrative simplifications".
Specifically, the DL includes the repeal of art. 46 of Law 238/16 that in practice will make optional the registered trademark or ICQRF or ICRF code on the closing guarantee, or on the capsule.
For the wine industry, this change represents an important reform that, in our opinion, opens up potential risks, such as a greater difficulty in tracing the bottler back immediately.
If until today the capsule has always represented a closure able to stem any attempts of tampering and counterfeiting, by removing this apparently simple but effective seal, the most practical and functional part of the capsule aimed at ensuring the content and the manufacturer itself will miss.
However, below is the link to download an extract of the Decree "simplification" in the text coordinated with the Conversion Law.
